Fitbit setup process

How to set up your Fitbit device for contactless payments

Download the latest version of the Fitbit App.
With your device nearby, from the Today tab in the Fitbit App, tap the devices icon.
Tap your device, then tap the Google Wallet tile.
Follow the on-screen instructions to add your RMB Private Bank Virtual Card.
If you are setting up contactless payments for the first time, you may be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your device. Note that you also need passcode protection enabled on your phone.
After you add a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven't already done so) to complete the setup.

Note:

If you have previously registered for Fitbit Pay, those cards have not been migrated from Fitbit Pay, so you need to add them to Google Wallet.
You can add additional cards and choose which card to set as the default payment option on your device from the Google Wallet tile.

How to make a payment

Open the payments screen on your device:

Charge 5 and Charge 6 - Swipe down from the clock face and tap Payments or Google Wallet
Versa, and Versa 2 - If you chose Fitbit Pay as your button shortcut, hold the button on your watch for 2 seconds to activate it
Otherwise, swipe down from the top of your screen. After your notifications appear, swipe down again to open the control center. Tap the Wallet icon.
Sense and Versa 3 - Open the Wallet app. For faster access to payments, add it as a button shortcut in the Settings app Shortcuts
Sense 2 and Versa 4 - Open the Google Wallet app or Wallet app
For faster access to payments, add it as a button shortcut in the Settings app Shortcut.
All other devices - When you're ready to pay, press and hold the
left button on your device for 2 seconds. Swipe to the payments screen if it's not shown
When the payment succeeds, your device vibrates and you'll see a confirmation on the screen

Note

To make a payment, enter your device PIN code the first time you make a contactless payment since last taking off your device, or if it's been 24 hours since you made a payment.

To access Google Wallet on your Fitbit device, check the Fitbit website to ensure you have a compatible device.

Google Wallet on your Fitbit device is available to existing RMB Private Bank clients who have the latest compatible Fitbit device and have downloaded the Fitbit App onto their smartphones (iOS and Android).

All you have to do is load your RMB Private Bank card details onto the Fitbit App with Google Wallet, authenticate using the OTP received and make payments with ease from your wrist with just a tap.

SwatchPAY! uses contactless payment technology to ensure a convenient, faster and safer way to pay.

To access SwatchPAY!, check the Swatch website to ensure you have a compatible device.

SwatchPAY! is available to existing RMB Private Banking clients who have the latest compatible Swatch device and have downloaded the SwatchPAY! App onto their smartphones (Android or IOS).

All you have to do is load your RMB Private Banking card details onto the SwatchPAY! App, authenticate using the OTP received and make payments with ease from your wrist with just a tap.

Android and iOS setup

Download the SwatchPAY! App by wearonize from the Google Play Store or Apple App store
Accept the Terms and Conditions
Sign in or create SwatchPAY! account
Add card by selecting the '+' option on the top right of the screen
Scan or type the payment card credentials
Select your SwatchPAY! and name it
To start the process, choose 'Activate with phone'
Hold your watch against the back of the phone to find the NFC connection
Once connection is confirmed, hold your watch steadily against the phone
Wait for the first 3 circles to turn green
Accept Terms and Conditions from RMB Private Bank
Wait for the last circle to turn green
Remove the watch
Select authentication method (e.g. SMS or email)
Insert the OTP details

The activation is complete. Enjoy paying with your watch.

Xiaomi Pay how it works

Xiaomi Pay uses contactless payment technology to ensure a convenient, faster and safer way to pay.
To access Xiaomi Pay, check the Xiaomi website to ensure you have a compatible device.
Xiaomi Pay is available to existing RMB clients who have the latest compatible Xiaomi wearable and have downloaded the Mi Fitness App onto their smartphones (Android or iOS).
All you have to do is load your RMB Card details onto the Mi Fitness App, authenticate using the OTP received and make payments with ease from your wrist with just a tap.

Open the Mi Fitness App
Select the 'Device' tab
Confirm connection to the Xiaomi watch
Select Xiaomi Pay & unlock your wearable device
Select 'Add' and follow the steps

Garmin setup process

How to set up Garmin Pay™ onto your device:

Download and launch Garmin Connect App on your smartphone
Follow instructions to set up a Garmin Connect account or sign into an existing account
Pair your device to Garmin Connect by following the on-screen instructions - ensure Bluetooth is turned on your smartphone and your device is in phone pairing mode
During set up, it will ask you if you want to set-up Garmin Pay™ now. Alternatively, you can set this up later in Garmin Connect App by going to Garmin Devices - Select your device - Select Garmin Pay™
Select Create your Wallet

How to add your RMB card onto Garmin Pay™

Create a 4-digit passcode to secure the wallet on your device
Select "VISA' to add your RMB Private Bank card to the wallet
Enter RMB Private Bank card details or select 'Scan my card' to take a picture of your RMB Private Bank card
Accept bank Ts and Cs

Step-up authentication

Select 'Step-up authentication method' (SMS/email)
Enter OTP received from RMB Private Bank

How to make a payment:

Press and hold button on device to open the controls menu page and navigate to the Wallet icon
Select the 'Wallet' icon
Enter your 4-digit passcode
Your card will appear on screen. To switch cards swipe down or press the down button
You will be prompted to hold your device near the card reader
The watch will vibrate and display a green checkmark when the payment has been successful
While you are wearing the watch, you can make payments for the rest of the day without entering your passcode again. If you disable heart rate monitoring by removing the watch from your wrist or 24 hours have lapsed you must enter your passcode again before making a payment.

How to maintain your card:

You can view your wallet in the Garmin Connect App. Tap 'Garmin Devices' then select your device to view it

Select Garmin Pay™
Select 'Manage my wallet'
Select a payment card
Options to temporarily suspend your card or delete it from your wallet will be displayed

To access this service, ensure you have a compatible Garmin device and have downloaded the device's app to your phone. You may find a list of compatible devices and device setup guides on the Garmin website at www.garmin.co.za.

All you have to do is load your RMB card details onto the Garmin Pay™ Apps, authenticate using the OTP received and make payments with ease from your wrist with just a tap.

How to set up Samsung Pay on your phone

Verify that you are running the latest version of firmware on your Samsung smartphone.
If you see a Samsung Pay icon on your device, select the icon and follow the onscreen prompts, alternatively, you can download Samsung Pay from the Google Play store.

How to add your RMB card to Samsung Pay on your phone

Launch your Samsung Pay App from your application list
Navigate to the Home tab and select 'Payment Cards'.
Press the 'Add Card' button.
Payment cards can be added to Samsung Pay by either scanning your actual card, tapping your contactless card on the back of your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or entering the card information manually.
Select 'Next' and the RMB Private Bank Terms of Service will be displayed. Agree to the Terms of Service to proceed.
You will then be prompted to verify that you have permission to add this card to Samsung Pay.
Select SMS and, if prompted, the phone number you would like the OTP to be sent to.
If you have the RMB Private Bank Banking App installed on your phone, check your messages in the app to get your OTP. If not, you will receive an SMS with your OTP.
Enter the OTP into the provided field and select 'Submit'.
Sign on the screen as prompted and select 'Save' to complete the process.

How to make a payment with your phone

Initiate Samsung Pay by either swiping up from the bottom of the device on the home screen.
Lock screen or opening the Samsung Pay app.
Select the card you want to pay with by swiping left or right.
Authenticate using your fingerprint or your 4-digit Samsung Pay PIN
Place your phone near the magnetic card reader or NFC reader to complete the transaction.

How to set up Samsung Pay on your watch

Verify that your Samsung watch is paired to your mobile device and that you have the latest firmware installed on your Samsung watch
Open you Samsung Wearable app on your phone, navigate to 'Settings' and select 'Samsung Pay'.
Follow the onscreen prompts to set up your Samsung Pay.

How to add your RMB Private Bank card to Samsung Pay on your Samsung Watch

Open you Samsung Wearable app on your phone, navigate to the Settings tab and select Samsung Pay.
Select 'Add' to start adding the card
Payment cards can be added to Samsung Pay by either scanning your actual card, tapping your contactless card on the back of your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or entering the card information manually.
Select 'Next' and the RMB Private Bank Terms of Service will be displayed. Agree to the Terms of Service to proceed.

How to make a payment with your Samsung Watch

Initiate Samsung Pay by holding down the button on the top right of the watch for a few seconds.
If you have not yet authenticated yourself, type in your user selected Samsung Pay PIN on the Samsung Watch.
Select the card you want to pay with by swiping left and right or by rotating the bezel.
Tap the 'Pay' button at the bottom of the Samsung Watch screen.
Place your Samsung Watch near the NFC reader of the payment terminal to complete the transaction.
To access this service, ensure you have a compatible Samsung device and have downloaded the Samsung Pay app to your phone. You may find a list of compatible devices and device set-up guides on Samsung's website: http://www.samsung.com/za/samsung-pay

How it works

Samsung Pay uses proprietary Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies to make contactless mobile payments. This means that you can make a secure contactless payment virtually anywhere on any payment terminal, whether it is a contactless enabled terminal or not.

Samsung Pay supports CD-CVM (Consumer Device-Customer Verification Method). This means when making payments, you would only have to unlock your device with your passcode or biometric, then hold your device near the contactless symbol at the POS device. This allows you to enjoy a more seamless payment experience.

How it works

Apple Pay uses proprietary Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies to make contactless mobile payments. This means that you can make a secure contactless payment virtually anywhere on any contactless enabled payment terminal.

Setup Apple

Depending on your device you can set up Apple Pay by selecting any of the following methods:

Set up Apple Pay on your RMB Private Bank App

Log in to your RMB Private Bank App

Select 'Cards'
Select card or virtual card
Select 'Add to Apple Wallet'
Follow steps

You can manage your Apple Pay digital cards on the RMB Private Bank App under Settings > Partner Wallets.

Set up Apple Pay for Watch

Make sure your watch and phone devices are unlocked during this process.

Open Watch App on your phone and select 'Wallet & Apple Pay'
Tap 'Add Credit or Debit Card'
Capture card details by using your camera or enter all card details manually. Alternatively, use your cards on iPhone, listed under 'Other cards on your phone'.

Once added to iPhone and if Watch is linked you will be prompted to add the card to Watch.

What's needed

Provide your card details by using cards previously used for Apple Pay, or cards that have been stored on iTunes. Alternatively, you can scan a new card or capture card details manually (16-digit card number, expiry and CVV).

Verification methods

Receive one-time PIN (OTP) via SMS
RMB Private Bank App customers will be redirected to the RMB Private Bank App to approve adding a card to Apple Pay
Contact the RMB Private Bank Fraud Centre

Once verified, the card will be active and ready to transact on Apple Pay.

You can manage your Apple Pay digital cards on the FNB App under Settings > Wallets + Subscriptions

Set up Apple Pay for iPhone or iPad

What's needed

To register

Enter the card details, accept the RMB Private Bank terms and conditions and select the verification method.

Verification methods

Receive one-time PIN (OTP) via SMS
RMB Private Bank App customers will be redirected to the RMB Private Bank App to approve adding a card to Apple Pay
Contact the RMB Private Bank Fraud Centre

Once verified, the card will be active and ready to transact on Apple Pay.

Accept issuers Terms and Conditions by scrolling down to 'Accept and Continue'
Your card will be authenticated - do not exit screen. We will contact your bank
Select verification method (for OTP) and tap 'Continue'
Enter verification code sent and select submit
Card is ready to use with Google Wallet
